Description

Seeking a senior online editor to lead the editorial team. Applicants must be driven to produce breaking news. The ideal candidate must possess excellent copy editing skills and have a keen ability to write attention-grabbing headlines in Arabic. The senior online editor must also have a strong work ethic, a high level of integrity, initiative, and a desire to learn and progress. -- Responsibilities -- Maintain and update main site Edit and review internal publications for accuracy and completeness Conduct interviews, write editorials or special articles, and approve final drafts and layouts Supervise production of breaking news and continuing coverage, special reports and newsletters covering the Arab Region Review photo selections Lead editorial meetings, assign and manage flow of articles from staff and interns Train, motivate, and develop editorial staff Manage editorial calendar Critical thinking, time management, judgment and decision and active learning are required -- Requirements -- 3 years of professional online journalism editing experience in Arabic BA degree required, preferably in journalism or economic studies Applicants must provide at least two references and 3-5 writing clips in addition to a resume and cover letter.
